Winter in the swamp is one of my favorite times of year, and it really doesn’t have that much to do with the lack of mosquitoes, although that’s a definite plus.

With the leaves off of most of the trees, the entire color system changes from the Oz-like green of midsummer to gentler one of tans, greys, purples and blues interspersed with shots of warm color.

For the next several months I’m serving as the artist-in-residence at the Congaree National Park. Follow along as I explore the park in more detail, paint plein air as often as I can, and work on developing a new mural for the Visitors Center.

Happy New Year! And thank you so much for being part of my artistic journey!!

Join me on my daily painting journey and get sneak peeks (~ 3x/ week) and special VIP previews of the new collections when they're released!
